Having joined Perry Dampf in 2012, Mrs. Scott is a full-time mediator who has successfully mediated hundreds of cases with the vast majority of her cases ending in settlement. She connects with the parties on both sides of the matter, is tireless in pursuing a resolution for the parties and utilizes creative approaches to resolve simple and complex multi-party disputes. Mrs. Scott is available for mediations throughout the State of Louisiana and the United States.

Mrs. Scott is a managing partner with Donohue, Patrick & Scott PLLC bringing approximately 30 years of extensive litigation experience to her mediation clients. She was admitted to the Louisiana Bar in 1995 and the Texas Bar in 2003. She is also admitted to the U.S. District Court: Middle, Eastern and Western Districts of Louisiana, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals, Fifth Circuit.

In her years of practice, Mrs. Scott has successfully represented clients in jury and bench trials in Louisiana state and federal courts, in Texas State courts and, working in conjunction with local counsel, in state and federal courts across the United States. She has served as national counsel for clients in many courts across the country. She has also represented professional clients before the Louisiana Legislature and various Louisiana state administrative boards and commissions and has represented clients in arbitrations with the American Arbitration Association and with independently selected arbitration panels. Mrs. Scott has represented clients in personal injury and property damage matters (including catastrophic injury and multi-party litigation), complex insurance coverage disputes, products liability litigation and professional liability litigation. Mrs. Scott has extensive experience in construction disputes including representing architects, engineers and contractors in litigation involving construction defects, personal injuries, property damage and errors and/or omissions arising out of the construction of sports venues and stadiums, hotels and conference centers, office buildings, energy production facilities, condominium and apartment complexes, single family residences, student dormitories, university libraries and buildings, schools, shopping centers, churches, recreational facilities, and roads, bridges and highways.

She has successfully mediated matters involving individual and multi-party personal injury (including premises liability, auto liability, construction and industrial accidents and catastrophic injury), products liability, professional liability (including architects and engineers, accountants, physicians and other qualified health care providers, insurance agents and brokers, directors and officers, real estate appraisers, public officials and social services organizations), first and third party property damage disputes, construction disputes and construction defect litigation, insurance coverage disputes, maritime law, and mass and toxic torts. Mrs. Scott is on the Louisiana Mediator Registry of qualified civil mediators published by the Louisiana State Bar Association. She also serves as a court appointed neutral/mediator in the Hurricane Laura and Delta Claims in the U.S. District Court, Western District of Louisiana and the Hurricane Ida Claims in the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Louisiana.

Mrs. Scott completed intensive mediation training in 2014 at Pepperdine Law School’s Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution, one of the world’s leading dispute resolution programs which U.S. News & World Report has consistently ranked as the Number 1 dispute resolution program in the country. The coursework included the “Mediating the Litigated Case,” a sophisticated 40-hour program geared to experienced litigators.

The Louisiana State Bar Association has recognized Mrs. Scott with the Service to the Public Award and the Service to the Bar Award (2000). She is also AV-rated by Martindale-Hubbell by members of the bar and judiciary and a fellow of the Louisiana Bar Foundation. Mrs. Scott is a member of the American Bar Association active in the Dispute Resolution Section (Mediation, Early Dispute Resolution and Women in Dispute Resolution Committees); Tort and Insurance Practice Section (Dispute Resolution Committee); and Forum on Construction Litigation (Litigation and Dispute Resolution Committee). Mrs. Scott is a member of the Federal Bar Association and served on the Board of Directors of the Federal Bar Association’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Section in 2020-21.

Mrs. Scott is an experienced speaker on mediation/ADR, first and third-party insurance coverage and liability matters and construction litigation.
