Joe Giarrusso

Joseph Giarrusso III, an experienced attorney, has represented clients on both sides of the bar. He joins Perry Dampf Dispute Solutions as a neutral with great impartiality throughout the mediation process, treating all parties involved with fairness and respect. He serves as a court appointed mediator for the Hurricane Ida Claims in the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Louisiana and Orleans Civil District Court.

With extensive litigation experience over 20 years, Mr. Giarrusso’s background spans across the state, where he has successfully handled bench and jury trials in both Louisiana federal and state courts. Recognized for his exceptional legal skills, he has been honored as a Super Lawyer and has been named a City Business Leader in Law. Furthermore, he is licensed to practice law in both Louisiana and Texas, expanding his reach and expertise.

Mr. Giarrusso's academic achievements are equally impressive. He attended the University of Texas, where he was chosen to join the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa society and graduated with high honors. He later pursued his legal education at LSU, where he served on the Law Review and graduated with the esteemed Order of the Coif distinction. Following law school, he gained valuable experience by clerking for Justice Harold See on the Alabama Supreme Court. Subsequently, Mr. Giarrusso practiced with prominent firms such as Vinson & Elkins in Houston, Liskow & Lewis, and Barrios, Kingsdorf & Casteix in New Orleans.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Mr. Giarrusso actively contributes to the community. He has held leadership positions as the president of the Young Leadership Council, the Lakeview Civic Improvement Association, and KIPP: New Orleans. Additionally, he has served as an executive board member of the Bureau of Governmental Research and currently holds the role of co-chair of United Way's citywide Mental Health Collaborative.

In his personal life, Mr. Giarrusso is happily married to Cassie Giarrusso, who is also a lawyer, and together they are proud parents of two teenage daughters.
