Michael G. Helm




As the founder of Helm Law Firm, L.L.C., Mr. Helm maintains a solo practice in Covington, Louisiana. Having engaged in litigation in Louisiana and Texas over the past thirty-three years representing claimants and defendants, Mr. Helm has substantial experience in resolving disputes embraced within insurance, personal injury, wrongful death, property damage and contractual actions.



Mr. Helm's diverse personal and professional lifestyle makes him uniquely qualified to serve as a mediator. For example, in addition to his litigation practice, Mr. Helm has served two years as a member of the Adjunct Faculty for the Tulane Trial Advocacy program. Moreover, he and his wife are currently raising five children. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Helm worked in the oil field industry for six years as a provider of offshore services and products. Additionally, following his senior season as a member of the Georgia Tech football team, Mr. Helm received the Best All Around Excellence Award. His ability to motivate and persuade, together with his integrity and great respect for fairness are just a few of the assets that Mr. Helm brings to the mediation table.

Mr. Helm is an experienced mediator having mediated over 300 claims since 2006. Has over thirty-three years of practice in Admiralty and Maritime Law, Personal Injury, Wrongful Death and Insurance. Mr. Helm is a member of the State Bars of Louisiana and Texas and American Bar Association, a member of the Adjunct Faculty for the Tulane Trial Advocacy program, Tulane School of Law, and a member of the Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel. Mr. Helm is also a CLE Seminar Speaker on topic of Evidence.
